After all... tomorrow is another day.

Aerial shot from Bingmaps of our 40 acres . . . probably taken a couple years before we bought it. The red roofed building to the NE of the house is the dog kennel that Alan is converting into a workshop.

February 2012, Lilly's World was limited to 2 - 3 acres surrounded by an electric fence . . . with a patch of nice green grass!

this pic shows the three strands of electric 'tape' fencing . . . may add a
forth strand . . . Lilly managed to get through the fence to visit the
the neighbor's stallion . . . she is such a flirt.

Alan got a pneumatic T-post driver . . . says it works well . . .

Oh, and notice the TRACTOR . . . of course we needed a tractor . . . really it has been invaluable - a very good purchase.

Lizzy, Stephanie's (Alan's youngest) horse, moved in with Lilly the end of March. Lilly is MUCH happier. Through the summer we've expanded the pasture to approximately 8 acres along the south end of our property. This also contributes to horse happiness . . . the more to graze, the better.

Lilly is the buckskin, Lizzy is the appaloosa . . . doing what they love, grazing :)

Of course, the pasture around Tara doesn't look like this as this is being posted in mid-August. There is not much green to be seen . . . pretty dry and crunchy . . . but we are ever hopeful for (blessed) RAIN!!
& we moved that huge burn pile (to the right of Lizzy) to the 'front yard' in an attempt to save a couple of small trees - the only ones in that area of the pasture. We're hoping to burn the brush pile this fall or winter . . .

. . .  and added a gate! Well, apparently I didn't actually take a picture of the finished gate project. This is the first of two H-supports for the gate.
